Intergration of A Wolf
Narek Arzumanyan's exhibition, "Integration of a Wolf" showcases a series of self-portraits that narrate the personal journey of an artist, whose works offer profound insights into his inner world.
Since his childhood, Narek Arzumanyan has had a deep connection to nature. As a young boy, he would spend hours playing in the forests of Armenia, often imagining himself as a wolf, fox, or jackal. Even at that early age, there was no clear distinction between the animal and the human in the artist's mind. The later metaphor of the lone wolf took root, especially during his time in a German asylum center, where he increasingly felt isolated. As a result, Arzumanyan started watching numerous nature documentaries and creating self-portraits portraying himself as a solitary wolf. While the role of the lone wolf still manifest in his works, he has since shed this identity – a fascinating transformation process that is now present in his art.
